Terms & Conditions
Version 1.0 · Last updated July 3, 2026
These terms govern your use of GitOnBoard. You must read and accept them to register an account.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a GitOnBoard account you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Registration requires explicit acceptance; if you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service. We record the version of the terms you accepted and the time of acceptance.
2. The service
GitOnBoard analyzes repositories you are authorized to access and generates onboarding guidance. Insights are AI-generated aids, not authoritative statements. You are responsible for verifying any command, configuration, or recommendation before acting on it.
3. Repository access & scope
When you connect a provider, GitOnBoard requests read-only access to repository metadata, documentation, manifests, workflows, issues, pull requests, and selected code excerpts. GitOnBoard never requests write access and will not push code, alter access, create invitations, or trigger deployments on your behalf.
4. Acceptable use
You may only analyze repositories you own or are authorized to access. You may not use GitOnBoard to violate provider terms, infringe intellectual property, or attempt to extract another tenant's data. Multi-tenant isolation is enforced, and abuse may result in suspension.
5. AI-generated content
AI insights are provided with evidence sources and confidence levels and distinguish detected facts from inferred recommendations. GitOnBoard does not guarantee completeness or accuracy and reports missing information honestly as 'not detected' rather than inventing answers.
6. Security & untrusted content
Repository content is treated as untrusted data. GitOnBoard redacts detected secrets and personal information before analysis and logs safety events without storing the sensitive values. You must not upload content you are not permitted to process.
7. Data handling & retention
Demo data is clearly labelled and isolated from connected repositories. Data derived from private repositories is minimized and subject to stricter retention controls. You may request deletion of your workspace data, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
8. Accounts & responsibilities
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity within your workspace. Workspace roles govern who can invite members, run scans, and view results.
9. Availability & changes
The service is provided on an 'as available' basis. We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GitOnBoard is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of AI-generated guidance. Always verify critical steps against authoritative sources.
This is a portfolio project. These terms are illustrative and not legal advice.
